Fire crews have been called to Kilmarnock’s dump this evening after a fire erupted.
Firefighters are currently on the scene at the recycling facility as a huge plume of smoke can be seen pouring from the site.
At least one Scottish Fire and Rescue engine has been scrambled to the Western Road dump with workers seen standing at the gates.
Residents are advised to stayed off as efforts are been intensified to arrest the current situation in that area and hopefully before the close of business today.
Police also stated that they will be on ground to monitor the situation on take necessary actions when and where necessary.
