Kilmarnock attack: Three dead in suspected ‘murder-suicide’

Georgia officials said that three children, aged nine to thirteen, died in what they believe to be a murder-suicide after their mother consented to let an ex-partner to take them to acquire food.

Shortly after one in the morning on Wednesday, a police officer on patrol in Lucky Shoals Park in Gwinnett County, some 20 miles northeast of Atlanta, discovered the remains of a man and three children in a car parked on a walking route.

Carlos Rodriguez, 9, Arianny Rodriguez, 13, and Chadal Rodriguez, 11, were the children recognised by Gwinnett County police.

Jose Plasencia, 56, who had dated the children’s mother in the past, was named as the suspect.

According to the police, the mother was admitted to the hospital due to an unconnected injury sustained by one of her children. According to the authorities, Plasencia met the mother and the kids at the hospital and was the father of the injured child.

Police posted a statement on Facebook stating that “after some time the mother agreed to let the three children go with the suspect to grab a bite to eat while she remained at the hospital.”
