An Ayrshire doctor is facing allegations that he worked beyond his remit and “concealed” information about the early termination of his contract at another health board.
Dr Hassan El Teraifi, who worked at Kilmarnock’s Crosshouse Hospital, also faces a charge of dishonesty when a hearing of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) examines his standard of care and practice next month.
According to MPTS papers, the tribunal will inquire into an allegation that on 10 June 2019, while working as a locum doctor at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, Dr El Teraifi sought to “conceal information” relating to restrictions placed on his practice by University Hospital Crosshouse for NHS Ayrshire & Arran, on or around 31 May 2018.
In addition, Dr Teraifi faces a charge that on 28 August 2019, while employed at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, he sought to conceal information relating to the early termination of his contract by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust due to “concerns” about his clinical capabilities.

It is further alleged that Dr El Teraifi’s actions in concealing information were “dishonest.” Dr Teraifi’s areas of practice also included North Ayrshire, North Devon, South Ayrshire and Wiltshire.
