Police were called to the town’s busy King Street around midday on Saturday, with a 31-year-old later charged for attempted theft, drugs offences and a breach of bail.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.25pm on Saturday, April 6, police were called to a report of suspicious activity at a disused premises in King Street, Kilmarnock.
“Officers attended and a 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with attempted theft, drugs offences and breach of bail.
The Police therefore call on the public to remain calm and law abiding as they are on top of the situation.
