Kilmarnock rapist who preyed on four young women during horror campaign jailed

A sex predator who preyed on four young women has been jailed for 12 years.

Finlay Hume was today sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow having earlier been convicted of a total of 13 charges.

The victims suffered at his hands between June 2013 and November 2021 at different addresses across Ayrshire including Kilmarnock and Fenwick.

Hume, 39, repeatedly made sleazy comments to the first woman.

He then went on to put the next victim through a horror ordeal which involved him raping her while she was initially asleep as well as assaulting, stalking and threatening the terrified female.

Prosecutors said this included Hume warning he was going to report her to police.

The third woman received offensive texts and comments from harassers.

Hume also sexually molested and raped the last victim.

Hume, of Fenwick, attended the hearing today via video link from prison.

According to his KC Gary Allan, the sex attacker continues to insist on his innocence in court.

After Hume’s release, Lord Colbeck mandated that he remain under supervision for a further four years.

He claimed that Hume had “clearly exploited” the “relative immaturity” of the victims.

“You continue to deny responsibility for the offences,” the court told him.

“You claim that the victims are plotting your downfall and fabricating accusations against you.

“You show no insight to your behaviour and the impact that it has had on them.”

In addition, Hume received non-harassment orders prohibiting him from communicating with two of the women.
