Man arrested after police pursue suspect through Kilmarnock gardens

A police chase ensued after a vehicle was stopped in another part of town.

A man was taken into custody as Kilmarnock police gave chase.

Authorities have verified that, shortly before 3:30 p.m. yesterday, an automobile was stopped on Western Road in the town.

After a police pursuit, a guy was taken into custody in Bellfield’s Cheviot Place, over three and a half miles away.

It was made public yesterday that there was a significant police presence on the Bellfield estate and that officers were being assisted by a force aircraft.

Additionally, a witness saw police pursuing a man through nearby gardens.

Since then, Police Scotland has stated that investigations are still underway and that a 37-year-old male has been arrested in relation to driving offences.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55pm on Monday, 13 May, 2024, officers attempted to stop a car on Western Road, Kilmarnock .

“A short pursuit took place, which came to an end in Cheviot Place, Bellfield, Kilmarnock.

“A 37-year-old man was arrested nearby in connection with road traffic offences and enquiries remain ongoing.”
