A man has been found dead in Kilmarnock this morning, police have confirmed.
Officers raced to the Hurlford Road area of the town at around 6am this morning to a report of a concern for a person.
Emergency services were among those to be scrambled to the incident and a 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say that the death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6am on Wednesday September 25, to a report of a concern for person in the Hurlford Road area of Kilmarnock.
“Emergency services attended and a 50-year-old-man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
The road and surrounding streets are still swarming with police almost four hours after the alarm was raised with mercy crews.
The entire street, has been locked down by police to allow investigations to take place.
