Man taken to hospital after two car smash outside Kilmarnock supermarket

Following a collision outside an Ayrshire shop today, a man was transported to the hospital.

At the intersection of High Glencairn Street and Low Glencairn Street, adjacent to Kilmarnock Lidl, emergency personnel, including police and ambulance workers, hurried to the incident.

Paramedics took a man to hospital following the smash around 1pm.

An eyewitness has told how debris was spread across the road with two cars visibly damaged.

It appears that the crash also damaged a pedestrian guardrail, which has now been dismantled and a temporary guard erected in its place.

The crash is still being investigated, according to the police.

A spokesman for Police Scotland stated: “We were alerted to a report of a crash on Low Glencairn Street, Kilmarnock, at approximately 1pm on Friday, February 16, 2024.

“After emergency personnel arrived, an ambulance took one man to the hospital.
