Man’s body found in Kilmarnock water as police called to scene

A man’s body has been found in the River  Irvine  in Kilmarnock.

Police were called to the scene of the incident on Tuesday afternoon, September 24.

They later confirmed that the body of a 44-year-old man had been found and that there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.30pm on Tuesday, 24 September, 2024 the body of a 44-year-old man was found within the water in Kilmarnock.

“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and next of kin have been made aware. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
