The road was closed for ten hours to allow crash investigators to comb the scene.
An horrific crash in Ayrshire yesterday resulted in one man’s death and four injuries.
At approximately 3:10 p.m., a motorbike and silver Skoda Octavia collided on the A719 Waterside, which leads to the A77 Ayr Road.
Police announced today that the 56-year-old biker was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Four female passengers were transported to Crosshouse for medical attention, however the car’s male driver remained unharmed.
Today, authorities verified that although the motorcyclist’s next of kin have been notified, formal identification has not yet taken place.
Witnesses are being urged by the police to come forward.
The Road Policing Unit’s Police Sergeant Gordon Stewart stated: “We’re still investigating the complete set of circumstances surrounding this incident. The male biker passed away tragically, and our prayers are with his friends and family.
“I would ask anyone who may have seen the collision or who may have dash cam footage to get in touch with us as soon as possible if they haven’t already spoken to the officers or given them this information.”
About one in the morning on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the road reopened. I would want to express my gratitude to the public for bearing with us as we looked into this very tragic collision.
“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2245 of Monday, 17 June, 2024.”
