Emergency services have raced to a multi-vehicle crash in Kilmarnock town centre this afternoon.
Crews were scrambled to Old Mill Road around 12:30 pm after the smash.
Police have confirmed that emergency services are still in attendance.
It’s understood that the road has been closed and that traffic is being diverted from the area.
Officials have have announce the death of a mother and her three children.
Stagecoach West also said that delays were anticipated. They posted on X: “Delays expected on all services due to a road accident in the town centre.”
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 12:35 pm today, October 15, 2024 officers were called to reports of a two vehicle crash at Old Mill Road, Kilmarnock.
The 64-year-old passenger and the 67-year-old driver of the Audi were sent to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Sgt. Martin Cunningham expressed his condolences to the deceased woman’s friends and family.
Anyone with knowledge is requested to contact police, according to Police Scotland.
