Police block Kilmarnock road following sudden death of man

The death is being treated as unexplained but there is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A man died unexpectedly on a busy Kilmarnock route on Friday evening, prompting police to respond.

Dundonald Road was closed for several hours following the undetermined death of an 80-year-old man.

The incident took place near Porter Drive, close to the A71 bypass flyover bridge.

It’s understood the man at the centre of the incident was a cyclist and that no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance verified that the road has reopened four hours after the incident was initially reported to authorities.
