Riot police were called to Highet Street yesterday afternoon.
Police shut down a Kilmarnock street last night after receiving a report of concern for a person.
Cops swooped on Highet Street in the town yesterday afternoon and remained at the scene for several hours.
Officers cordoned off the entire road between Danny Coffey Avenue and William Street.
Multiple force vehicles were called to the scene and riot police eventually showed up at the scene of the incident.
Police Scotland has confirmed today that a 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.15pm on Wednesday, December 27, we received a report of a concern for person on Highet Street in Kilmarnock.
“Officers attended and a 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
