Kilmarnock’s town centre has received a further blow with the revelation that another shop will close.
Shoe Zone on King Street has announced plans to close its doors.
Signs placed in the window announced that the retailer is ‘closing down’.
It’s understood that a final closing date has yet to be announced by the retailer.
The unit falls under the Burns Mall umbrella, and the revelation comes shortly after the shopping mall was placed up for sale.
The announcement comes shortly after the Burns Mall was listed for sale at a £2.85 million price tag.
We revealed that less than half of the 31 Burns Mall units are occupied as retailers continue to experience difficulties.
However, this is not the first time Shoe Zone has announced it was pulling out of the town.
In August 2019, the retailer announced plans to close the same King Street location before doing a U-turn.
Shoe Zone has been approached for comment.
