At 10:30 on Wednesday morning, the man was discovered suffering from injuries by the side of the road in Kilmarnock. The police are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
After being brought to Crosshouse Hospital, he passed away later that day.
Anyone who was in the vicinity at the time is asked to contact the police, who stated they got a complaint of the incident on Monday.
“We are working to gather information that will assist us in establishing the circumstances,” stated Irvine Road Policing Unit Sgt. Brian Simpson.
