Suprisingly, Kilmarnock dad set to take on Roon the Toon 10k with unique twist

This weekend, a dedicated father from Kilmarnock is going to participate in an unusual fundraising endeavor on the 10k Roon the Toon course, all in the name of charity.

Taylor Buntain is driving his baby Elijah in his buggy while simultaneously trying to raise money for the local organization Ayrshire AM-ASN Warriors. The non-profit organization was founded to assist kids who require extra support as well as their caregivers. Given that Elijah uses services, it’s a cause that both of them are passionate about.

Taylor acknowledged that the organization had relocated, so he felt it would be the ideal method to help raise money to support the transfer. However, because he isn’t the strongest runner, he acknowledged that he will need to use mental toughness as he approaches the route.

“They’re a great group and we’ve seen first hand the benefits and service they provide so I just wanted to help and try to give back a little,” he said in an interview with Ayrshire Live.

“The funds received will ideally be utilized to purchase equipment and provide them with some assistance—really, whatever that can be done to help them continue to offer the excellent service that they do.

“I’m not sure if my body will thank me for it; it was more of an impulse decision.”

“I’ve been getting reacquainted with running since I haven’t really been in it for a few years, and it’s definitely a case of mind over matter,” he continued.

“It seems like nobody actually enjoys running?
