Officers received reports of two males in possession of a knife on Thursday evening.
Two teenagers were arrested after being traced by police following reports that they were in possession of a knife at a bus station in Kilmarnock.
Police were notified on Thursday night that the young people were in possession of the knife.
The two boys, both sixteen, were located and taken into custody for carrying knives in a public place, according to police confirmation.
“Police officers in Kilmarnock attended the Bus Station on the evening of Thursday, April 11, 2024 following a report of two males in possession of a knife,” a Police Scotland spokesman said.
“Two males aged 16 were traced and arrested for being in possession of a knife within a public place.”
