The 34-year-old male rider of a blue Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a single-vehicle collision on the A76 in East Ayrshire, a motorcyclist has passed away.
Around 6:55 p.m. on Friday , August 23, emergency personnel were summoned to the site of a collision on the main route connecting Kilmarnock and Mauchline.
At the scene, the 34-year-old male motorcyclist who was riding a blue Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle was declared deceased.
The road remained closed in both directions during the crash investigation and reopened at approximately 2.45 a.m. on Saturday.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died, and our enquiries into the circumstances of what happened are ongoing,” stated Sergeant Martin Cunningham of the Irvine Road Policing Unit.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened and anyone driving in the area who has dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to please get in touch.”
