Trans Pride march set for Kilmarnock as group aim to celebrate diversity’

Trans Pride Scotland is a free, accessible, family-friendly, alcohol-free and non-commercial pride for all trans and non-binary people in Scotland.

The programme for Trans Pride Scotland’s yearly pride march in Kilmarnock, which celebrates the lives of trans and non-binary individuals and advocates for trans rights, has been released.

Ayrshire College in the town will host a ticket-only marketplace event on Saturday, March 30. Attendees can take advantage of a variety of seminars, entertainment, speeches, and stalls on the day.

It is acknowledged that this is Kilmarnock’s first Trans Pride event.

“We are looking forward to our community 2024 gathering and celebration in Kilmarnock this year on Saturday, March 30,” stated Lisa Marie, convenor of Trans Pride Scotland.

The Trans Pride March will meander from Howard Park back towards the town centre while coordinating with the police and local government.
“Our committee is looking to the wider trans, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ community to help by volunteering on the day or turning out with flags and colourful placards in Kilmarnock,” Lisa Marie continued. “Our committee has been working hard to make this day happen.”

“Now that discrimination against transgender and non-binary people is on the rise, this is a great chance to unite in celebration of our diversity and to fight for the preservation of our hard-won rights.”

Attendance at the march and the function that follows is free. However, attendees are asked to obtain their free ticket here in order to guarantee attendee safety.
