Police confirmed the tragic news this evening.
In the course of looking for missing Kilwinning man Andrew Linton, a body has been discovered.
The discovery of a body in Eglinton Park this morning has been verified by police this evening.
Although final identification has not yet occurred, according to officials, the 43-year-old’s family has been notified of the find.
According to police, there don’t seem to be any questionable circumstances surrounding the death.
The man’s body was discovered in Eglinton Country Park on Sunday, Sunday 14, 2024, at approximately 11 a.m., according to a statement released by Police Scotland.
Although formal identification is still pending, Andrew Linton’s family has been notified that he is missing.
“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The North Ayrshire Council worker was last seen in the Corsehill area of Kilwinning around 5.35pm on Sunday, July 14.
Mr Linton’s wife Alison previously said: “Andrew is a family man, married with four grown stepsons and a granddaughter Myla, age three.”
