Police name motorcyclist who died after colliding with two vehicles in Kilwinning

A MOTORBIKER who died in a crash with a car and a van in Ayrshire has been named by police.

Ross Quinn, 23, was riding an Aprilia bike that collided with a Mercedes sprinter and a BMW 3 on the A737 in Beith on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called but Mr Quinn, from Kilwinning, died at the scene.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

This was the fifth fatality on Scottish roads in less than twenty-four hours, following the deaths of two young men in a crash in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, on Wednesday, and a father-of-two who was killed on his way to work on Thursday morning in an accident involving a lorry in Aberdeenshire.
Police are still pleading with witnesses to any of the collisions to get in touch with them.
