To lead the King’s Lynn Town Deal Board and oversee the delivery of multi-million pound transformative investment in the town, a new chair is being sought.
The town of King’s Lynn is experiencing exciting times right now, as the spring budget announced an additional £20 million for the town. Someone now has the chance to lead the board.
This funding is an addition to the £25 million Town Deal funding that was announced in 2020 and is currently being distributed among several ambitious projects that are under the board’s supervision.
The King’s Lynn Town Deal Board is composed of a wide range of people who represent the local government, businesses, and the community. Representatives from all local authority levels, MPs, local companies, the Chamber of Commerce, the Business Improvement District, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and the College of West Anglia are among the members.
It’s a terrific moment for me to join the board. In addition to witnessing the results of the Town Deal initiatives, which are advancing quickly, we now have the wonderful chance to be instrumental in developing a long-term strategy for King’s Lynn and obtaining an additional £20 million in funding.
“The person chosen to serve as chair will have the opportunity to apply their experience and knowledge from their work in the public or private sectors to mentor and steer the board through the upcoming exciting phase and contribute to the development of King’s Lynn.
We are searching for a forward-thinking, collegiate, open-minded, constructive, and entrepreneurial person.
“Even though this is a voluntary position, I can attest from personal experience on the board that there are significant benefits.” You will be able to significantly improve our town and help people both now and in the future if you are elected as our next chair.
“I kindly request that anyone interested in holding the position of chair submit an application. Officers will provide you with unwavering support and you’ll join a formidable team.
“I’m excited to work and meet with our new chair soon.”
The position requires 12 meetings a year in addition to other work and meeting preparation. The chair can get officer support to carry out the duties of the position, and board champions take the lead on particular projects.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, May 3, and interviews will take place on Friday, May 17.
