Road closed after ghastly road crash in King’s Lynn

Following a collision involving two vehicles this morning, a road is still closed and two people have been sent to the hospital.

Officers were dispatched to the A47 near Swaffham at 10:51 a.m. today in response to reports of a car and van collision.

Firefighters, an ambulance officer vehicle, and two paramedics are among the emergency personnel currently on the scene.

After five patients were examined on the spot, two were transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn so they could receive additional care.

The other three patients were treated on the spot for minor injuries and released.

Right now, the eastbound lanes of the road are closed.

National Highways has established a diversion route:

– Get off the A47 at the Hardwick roundabout in Lynn.

– Take the fourth exit to head south on the A10.

– Take the first exit onto the A1122 at the Downham roundabout.

– At Stradsett, take the A134, which is marked Thetford, to the right.

– Take the first exit onto the northbound A1065 at the Mundford roundabout.

– Re-enter the A47 at the Swaffham intersection.
