Dangerous’ goods seized in police raid on Clemens Mini Market in Leamington Spa

Police seized more than £20,000 worth of ‘dangerous’ goods when they raided a shop in Warwickshire. Officers visited Clemens Mini Market in Leamington on Wednesday, June 26.

Officers from the Leamington Spa Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) conducted a joint operation with Warwickshire Trading Standards. Concerns had been raised about illegal goods being sold at Clemens Mini Market on Clemens Street.

Inside they uncovered a large stash of illegal cigarettes, vapes and rolling tobacco, Leamington Police said. Officers also found illegal products inside an Audi that was parked near Clemens Street.

Around 20,000 cigarettes, 7.15kg of tobacco and 73 vapes were seized, Leamington Police said. Officers said the illegal goods found were worth approximately £20,475.

A spokesman for Leamington Police said: “Leamington SNT will continue to work with Trading Standards targeting the sale of these illegal and dangerous products and will take as many out of the hands of those profiting from their sale.”
