The National Pub and Bar Awards 2024 County winner for Warwickshire is the House pub and restaurant located in Leamington Spa.
Freespirit Pubs, a group of small, independent hospitality operators, is rightfully celebrating this award, not least because it’s quite an accomplishment to have received this recognition so soon after the company opened. The House, the group’s most recent acquisition, was taken over and reopened in February 2023 after extensive renovations.
The House, a popular hangout for locals planning a fun night out, is a bustling bar and dining pub situated on The Parade in the heart of Leamington Spa. The House offers fantastic cocktails and wines, a creative small plates menu, Sunday lunch, and a schedule of regular live events, including weekly comedy nights.
Head chef at House, Karolina Rosa, infuses contemporary Polish classics with her own unique take on British cuisine to create a whole new experience for guests at Royal Leamington Spa. Since the restaurant’s reopening, Karolina has been in charge of the kitchen at House. She collaborates closely with regional vendors and artisan producers to highlight the best seasonal produce on the menus.
In October 2023, The House introduced a brand-new pop-up dining concept called Number 75. Located in a space that was previously underutilised and has its own entrance, Number 75 provides a classy yet understated dining area with an elevated à la carte menu and service. After testing Number 75 in the lead-up to Christmas, it was so well-received that Freespirit decided to keep it on the menu and make it a permanent fixture.
