‘Persistent nuisance’ warned he could end up back in jail after

A ‘persistent offender’ has been alerted to the possibility that his actions could put him back behind bars. Paul Murphy has been barred from some areas of Leamington Spa due to his recent disruptive behaviour.

Leamington Police state that Murphy has been prohibited from entering certain areas of the city after being found guilty of multiple offences in the previous year. It is forbidden for him to go into Mill Gardens or the Parade.

The 37-year-old was referred to by Warwickshire Police officers as “a thorn in their side.” In addition, PC Morton claimed to have’refused any support offered to him.’

Murphy was sentenced to 52 weeks in jail after being found guilty of many charges last year, according to Leamington Police. At that point, a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) application was submitted, and on Thursday, March 28, it was finally approved after multiple delays.

This Criminal Behaviour Order will apply to Murphy until March 2029, with a maximum five-year period. According to Leamington Police, he is not allowed to expose himself in public, urinate or defecate in a public area, or inject a controlled narcotic or drug in public.

Additionally, he is not allowed to enter the Parade, Jephson Gardens, or Pump Room Gardens, among other areas of Leamington Spa. According to the police, breaking any of these rules makes him arrestable and subject to jail time.

“Paul has been a constant thorn in the side of the SNT for some time now and has refused any help offered to him, leaving us with very little option other than to apply for this Criminal Behaviour Order,” stated PC Morton of the Leamington SNT. I’m glad this order is in effect at last since it will provide police substantial authority to shield the public from his actions should he decide to disregard the restrictions placed on him.
