Charlie Cresswell blown away by £3m Leeds man after what he did for loan club on Saturday.
In his first game in charge of Cody Drameh’s loan team, Wayne Rooney observed Birmingham City lose 1-0 to Middlesbrough. Charlie Cresswell has given Sam Greenwood high praise.
Perhaps surprisingly, Rooney began his second stint as an English football manager during the October break, replacing John Eustace. It follows a spell with DC United, owned by Mateusz Klich.
His first match was a difficult away journey to Middlesbrough, where he faced Michael Carrick, an old colleague. Up until the 88th minute, it appeared as though Rooney would accept a draw and a clean sheet at The Riverside.
The solitary goal of the match was scored by Morgan Rogers, who came off the bench to take Greenwood’s spot on the left wing for Leeds. While Greenwood secures yet another Boro victory, Drameh and Rooney are dejected.
Greenwood beginning games has coincided with Boro’s comeback to form. The Leeds player, who scored in a thrilling 4-0 victory over Sunderland, has started the last three of their five straight victories. On Instagram, he shared.
After a difficult beginning in which he found it difficult to establish himself in the starting lineup, Greenwood is still a shining light for Middlesbrough. The adaptable star has been operating from the left side of midfield under Carrick.
In his last two games, for sure. While at Leeds, the England U21 player mostly operated as a center midfielder, or a no. 10. That follows scoring 22 goals in 43 U21 games while playing as a striker in the reserves.
Thus, £3m Greenwood has performed admirably. Who Scored reports that on Saturday, he won three free kicks and made a crucial assist. Lew Bate and Cresswell commended him on his excursion on his Instagram post.
