It was announced yesterday (October 24) that West Yorkshire Police had launched a murder investigation after a woman was stabbed to death in Leeds. Officers called to the scene reported that the woman was taken to hospital for treatment, but she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police officers were called to a house in Prince Edward Grove, near Wortley, Leeds, shortly after 11pm on October 23 after paramedics reported that they were treating a woman for stab wounds at a property.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with her death.

What have police said?

A statement released by the force said: “Police have launched a murder enquiry after the body of a woman was found in Leeds.

“At 11.08pm on Monday (October 23) police officers attended an address in Prince Edward Grove, Leeds after the ambulance service reported that they were treating a woman for stab wounds at the location.

“The woman was taken to hospital for further treatment, but was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later. A 17-year-old male has been arrested and remains in custody in connection with the matter, which is being treated as an isolated incident at this time.

“Enquiries remain ongoing by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.”
