Leeds United defender makes comeback after 12 months sidelined by injury in European win
Young Leeds player Sutcliffe suffered a devastating knee injury away at Sunderland in the Premier League 2 last year.
Prior to his comeback on Tuesday night, he had been sidelined for more than a year.
The defender, who was born in Keighley, has represented Leeds 21s at both full-back positions and was playing well before suffering an injury in October of last year.
The 20-year-old was left off the starting lineup for Hertha BSC II’s Premier League International Cup match at the LNER Community Stadium by head coach Skubala, who decided to start the adaptable defender in the second half.
Sutcliffe contributed to Leeds’ eventual 3-1 victory by playing the full thirty minutes, with stoppages, off the bench. The young Whites’ next game is against Liverpool at home in Premier League 2 on Sunday.
