Dutch side Feyenoord are growing increasingly happy with their deal to sell Luis Sinisterra to Leeds United last summer, as he’s yet to prove to be value for the €25m they got for him.
It is because Feyenoord “collected €17m too much” for the winger, who is currently on loan at Bournemouth from Leeds, according to Voetbal 4 U.
Feyenoord sold Sinisterra “for just a fortune,” they explain, and he did it “at exactly the right time,” considering his current valuation of nearly €9 million.
Since joining the Dutch team in 2018 for €2 million from Once Caldas, Sinisterra has been a standout player. Considering that he was later sold for €25 million, with an additional €5 million potentially coming from bonuses, Sinisterra was a tremendous value.
He agreed to a five-year contract at Elland Road, but he hasn’t been able to contribute. In order to continue playing in the Premier League, he eventually joined Bournemouth this summer.
Feyenoord is therefore becoming more and more pleased that they received a “good deal” for the player, whose worth “peaked at €17.8m,” a substantial discount to the price they received when they sold him to Leeds.
It’s possible that he will recover and play well for Bournemouth this season, or perhaps even become a star at Leeds, but that is not happening right now, and Feyenoord appear to be pleased with the deal they received.
