Crysencio Summerville, a winger for Leeds United, was the hero this past weekend as he scored two goals in the team’s comeback victory over Norwich City.
Leeds, inspired by their incredible victory against Norwich City, head to Stoke City this week with the goal of making it four straight wins.
After behind two goals, the Canaries looked like they would make it a miserable return to Carrow Road for Daniel Farke, but a brilliant second half performance altered the tide of the match.
Unquestionably, Crysencio Summerville was Leeds’ greatest player throughout that victory, as he scored twice to change the score from 2-1 to 2-3, both in impressive fashion.
After being set up by Willy Gnonto from a short corner, Summerville scored his first equaliser, curling the ball past George Long and past the far post.
Georginio Rutter played him into the Norwich half, and he finished off an incredible counterattack by driving towards the box and slotting into the far corner to win the game for Leeds.
EFL opponents respond.
Summerville posted a highlight reel-worthy collection of his finest moments from the weekend on Instagram:
Two players who responded to his performance in the comments section were Milan van Ewijk, a full-back for Coventry City and a former Leeds player on loan to Middlesbrough, and the Whites during the summer:
When Summerville is playing at his best, clubs in this tier won’t be able to compete with him. It’s possibly his best performance while wearing a Leeds shirt.
We have been clamouring for him to take early shots as the margin widens, though, and that’s exactly what he did with both goals.
It was a little annoying that he held off on taking the ball as quickly as the supporters would have preferred to witness in the first half.
But we can’t argue with that performance, and he’s demonstrating why he’s such an important player.
