Archie Gray, a midfielder for Leeds United, has acknowledged that he should be appreciative for having a shot at Elland Road at his age.
Leeds brought in Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev toward the end of the window to relieve the pressure on Gray and Ethan Ampadu, but the 17-year-old midfielder remains a key part of their plans. He has started seven of Leeds’ eight Championship games so far.
One of the youngest midfielders in the Championship, Gray acknowledged that the past two years have passed by so rapidly that he hasn’t had time to reflect on his ascent to the first team at Leeds.
The young player, who is only 17 years old, is aware that he must continue to be grateful for the opportunity to play for Leeds at the level and is motivated to work hard.
Since I was around 15, it has basically came at me so quickly that I haven’t really had time to look back and reflect on what an experience it has been, Gray remarked on LUTV.
“I simply need to keep working hard and show gratitude for everything I’ve been given, including being raised from such a young age.
“And just keep getting better.”
Given the demanding nature of the Championship, Gray is likely to start more games for Leeds this season.
