Leeds United deal agreed, medical set

As part of their preseason preparations, Leeds United is presently in Germany.

Leeds United defeated Harrogate Town 3-0 on Friday night to start their preseason campaign in style. Before Georginio Rutter and Sam Chambers scored in the second half, Junior Firpo opened the score in the first half.

Now that they are in Germany, Daniel Farke and his team are getting ready for two more friendlies. However, both of those matches will take place behind closed doors, so fans are asked not to travel. The Whites’ last preseason game will be on August 3 at Elland Road against La Liga team Valencia, one week prior to their Championship debut against recently promoted Portsmouth.

Over the weekend, Jayden Bogle completed his transfer from Sheffield United to become the club’s newest addition. He has now arrived in Germany to join Farke’s team. We have compiled the most recent transfer rumours and news from Leeds and their Championship rivals as the season draws near.

Leeds eye potential Garcia deal

Football Insider reports that Leeds is considering a possible trade for Anselmo Garcia MacNulty, a defender for PEC Zwolle. Farke currently prefers Firpo, a 21-year-old who plays left-back, to other options at the position. Real Betis, a La Liga team that has already agreed to terms for Marc Roca and Diego Llorente this summer, has been linked to Firpo.

Farke stated on Friday following the victory over Harrogate, “I never made a secret out of it that I think that Junior Firpo on this level is an outstanding full-back, with his experience, with his technical ability, with his strength going forward.” Farke has made it clear that Firpo is a part of his plans for the 2024–25 season.

The time is now to subscribe to Graham Smyth’s Inside Elland Road, which provides unparalleled and comprehensive coverage of Leeds United.

“He has the ability to score and assist. He demonstrated this once more in this slightly more sophisticated role, which, in my opinion, also fits him somewhat. Since he is one of the older guys in my group, he plays a significant role in my plans for the future. He will undoubtedly be significant.”

It is reported that Garcia MacNulty is being considered by Leeds as they rumoredly keep an eye on the left-back market. The 21-year-old is a Republic of Ireland youth international and was born to an Irish mother and a Spanish father. Raised in Spain, he enrolled in the Real Betis academy as a young player before relocating to Germany to play for VfL Wolfsburg. Last summer, he joined Zwolle and scored two goals and provided two assists in 32 appearances.

Ex-Whites loanee wanted by Blackburn

Reporter Alan Nixon claims on his Patreon page that Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers are interested in former Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lewis Baker. The player came through Chelsea’s academy but was frequently sent out on loan, so he never made it into the first team. After leaving Stamford Bridge for Stoke City two years prior, he has made 90 appearances for the team, tallying 19 goals.

Due to a knee injury, he was unable to secure a starting position in the previous campaign. Blackburn is keen to raise money for a deal, and Rovers manager John Eustace is said to think highly of him. A swap deal may also be taken into consideration.
