Leeds United favourites stars pay tribute to a legend.

Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk of Leeds United, as well as Mateusz Klich, a former Whites midfielder, showed their support for defender Robin Koch by wearing the armband for Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend.

Koch has had a strong start to the Bundesliga season, playing a key role in the hardest-to-break defensive in the league. In their first eight league games, Eintracht has allowed just six goals, which is less than any other side in the division of eighteen teams.

Koch has had a strong start to the Bundesliga season, playing a key role in the hardest-to-break defensive in the league. In their first eight league games, Eintracht has allowed just six goals, which is less than any other side in the division of eighteen teams.

The 27-year-old defender is anticipated to stay in his own country until his contract with United expires in the summer of 2019. He just joined Eintracht on loan from Leeds in the summer.

In the absence of vice captain Kevin Trapp and club captain Sebastian Röde last weekend, coach Dino Toppmöller selected Koch to start the squad as Eintract trounced TSG 1899 Hoffenheim three goals to one.

Following the game, Koch posted a number of photos to social media, one of which showed him wearing the armband. Favourite Whites players Ayling, Klich, and Struijk responded by demonstrating their support. Ayling wrote, “Love that skip,” on the post, accompanied by blue and yellow heart emojis. Klich, on the other hand, said, “Gibst Noch Kapitan,” which is roughly translated as “it’s giving captain.”

Meanwhile, Struijk, who has captained the Whites in lieu of Liam Cooper for the past two games, only wrote “(C),” which is often taken to signify the captaincy. Despite the circumstances surrounding his Elland Road leave during the summer, Koch seems to have maintained tight ties with the people he shared a changing room with over the previous three seasons. A loan release provision in his contract, which was negotiated upon his arrival in 2020, is said to have caused the departure of numerous Leeds players from West Yorkshire, including him. The German international’s transfer cost is unlikely to be recovered by the club, although they have received a loan payment of about £500,000.

During his Saturday run-out, Koch wore the captain’s armband for the first time.
