Jordan James, a young midfield player for Birmingham City, has been linked to Leeds United this week. As a result, the Blues are currently searching for a new signing of their own.
Prioritising the signing of a midfielder and a full-back before the Portsmouth match, Leeds’ transfer priorities in August appeared to be Crysencio Summerville’s impending departure.
Although the club will undoubtedly be looking to add midfield players soon after losing Glen Kamara and Archie Grey, more acquisitions are now necessary.
Leeds keen on Birmingham City starlet Jordan James
According to a Football Insider report this week, Leeds is interested in signing Birmingham City rookie Jordan James as a midfield player.
Despite his team’s relegation to League One, the 20-year-old made an impression in the Championship with eight goals in the league.
James, who has 11 senior caps, is a senior Wales international, along with the Leeds trio of Dan James, Joe Rodon, and Ethan Ampadu.
Birmingham City targeting Welsh midfielder Luke Harris on loan from Fulham
Birmingham has already made headlines with their bold spending to move up from the third tier on their first try, but they are far from finished.
It is reported by Sky Sports, who also reveal that Fulham has made a loan offer to Welsh youth international Luke Harris.
This comes after the Blues already acquired highly-regarded midfielder Marc Leonard from Brighton, providing them with plenty of depth should they acquire Harris and possibly allowing James to depart before August 30.
Birmingham’s spending could line up James to leave amid Leeds links
James would be a fantastic addition to Leeds’ midfield for the upcoming campaign, and it appears Birmingham could make a profit.
He is too talented to be playing in League One, and a sale would free up even more funds for them to reinvest in order to return to the Championship.
It’s unclear if we’re prepared to make an offer, but the midfielder would be excellent and has a tonne of growth potential.
