Preston North End visit: Farke makes two changes to the Leeds United squad.

On Boxing Day, Leeds United takes on Preston North End at Deepdale in the Championship. Daniel Farke has chosen his team, making two changes to the Lancashire squad.

Daniel Farke has made changes to his Leeds United team at Preston North End, but his starting lineup has remained the same. It should come as no surprise after his team thrashed Ipswich Town, but that is his first starting lineup change in six games.

However, Sam Byram’s return is a significant boost for the bench. The full-back was thought to be out of contention until the FA Cup trip to Peterborough United or at the very least Birmingham City.

All of this implies that Farke will have to pay even closer attention to the amount of playing time the players are getting because of Friday night’s challenging trip to West Bromwich Albion. Farke, for instance, has attempted to handle Djed Spence following his recent injury return.

Due to their selection, Illan Meslier and Ethan Ampadu will extend their uninterrupted run of 24 straight Championship starts, which dates back to their match against Cardiff City on the first day of play. Josh Smith is the referee for today. Matthew Smith, Alex James, and Geoff Eltringham (fourth official) support him.

Illan Meslier is the Leeds United player; Archie Grey, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Djed Spence; Daniel James, Joel Piroe, Crysencio Summerville, Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara; Georginio Rutter.

Karl Darlow, Junior Firpo, Sam Byram, Wilfried Gnonto, Ilia Gruev, Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Jaidon Anthony, and Mateo Joseph are the substitutes.
