Sky Sports commentator shares what happened straight after Rotherham goal vs Leeds

Following last night’s equaliser between Rotherham United and Leeds United, Daniel Farke immediately left the building.

At the New York Stadium, Leeds controlled the ball for the whole of the first half. However, a series of mistakes made by Hakeem Odoffin in first-half stoppage time allowed him to tie the score.

After the halftime whistle, Sky Sports pundit David Stowell said live on air that Farke left the pitch through the tunnel as soon as the ball struck the back of the net.

Farke was certainly frustrated with Leeds’ ability to give Rotherham a way back into a game in which they were utterly inept in possession for a significant portion of it.

Even though they were occasionally a little slow and careless with the ball, Leeds had chances to make it 2-0 after taking the lead through Crysencio Summerville in just six minutes.

Leeds only have themselves to blame

Farke’s frustration at the manner of Rotherham’s goal was clear to see by the fact Stowell saw him go straight to the dressing room before the whistle had even been blown.

He said: “Daniel Farke headed straight down the tunnel the minute that goal went in. Frustrated to see his Leeds United side pegged back, who had been in control of the game in possession.”

Leeds only has themselves to blame for not winning three points, even if they should have had a penalty on Dan James in the second half.

Leeds never truly recovered to regain control of the game because at least half the team contributed in some way to Rotherham’s comeback.

You would have thought Leeds would spring out of the blocks after the break, given Farke’s evident frustration, but that didn’t happen.
