Champions League Finalists Register £15 Million To Leicester City Star”

Champions League finalists Internazionale are on high alert because star Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City has a contract expiration at the end of the current campaign, according to reports.

After battling to get minutes under Pep Guardiola, the Nigerian international joined the Foxes from Manchester City in 2017 for a reported £25 million. Nonetheless, Football Insider claims that Leicester was ready to offer Iheanacho anywhere from £10 to $15 million in the summer.

Now that the season is almost over, the former Premier League winners run the possibility of losing the center-forward on a free transfer, a move that has alerted multiple European teams, including Inter.

Iheanacho is on the club’s list because, should he decline to sign a new contract to stay at the King Power Stadium, he could become a free agent in eight months. This is according to Italian publication FC Inter News, which is reporting that the Nerazzurri are eager to reinforce their attacking department this summer.

However, FC Inter News has also disclosed that the player would require further evaluations, so nothing is finalised just yet.

Iheanacho’s services were sought after by a number of Premier League clubs in England during the summer transfer window for the pitiful figure of £10–15 million. Everton was one of these bidders, according to Football Insider, while Crystal Palace was another, according to The Daily Mail.

Under new head coach Enzo Maresca, Iheanacho has already scored five goals this season as Leicester City has dominated the Championship and is aiming to return to the top division at the first attempt.

The fact that Iheanacho is being linked to moves to some of the top clubs in Europe is not surprising. The Nigerian has scored a few goals per season while playing as a backup, as evidenced by his stint at Leicester City.

If the player leaves for nothing, the Foxes will have lost £25 million on him, which would be a devastating blow to the team.
