He’s A Crazy One – Leicester City Player Catches Eye Of Former Foxes Man

David Nugent has indicated that he never expected Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to adapt to his new role in the team seamlessly this season.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Ndidi has been used differently in the team by Leicester boss Enzo Maresca this season.

He is being used as the more box-to-box midfielder by the Leicester manager and Ndidi has stood up to the challenge and relishing his new role in the Foxes team in the ongoing campaign.

Nugent acknowledged that he has rarely seen a player transition to a new position and new job as seamlessly as Ndidi has. He has scored a goal and also assisted on another one.

The former Leicester player said he never imagined the player would be playing the current position, in which he runs into the penalty area and creates opportunities for others.-ADVERTISEMENT-

Wilfred is a weird one, Nugent stated on the BBC’s When You’re Smiling show.

“I have never witnessed a player switch positions that swiftly.

Nugent said on the BBC’s When You’re Smiling podcast“Wilfred is a crazy one.

“I have never seen a player convert into a different position so quickly.

“We have known him as a number 6 but he is now a number 9, running into the box, doing stepovers and creating chances for players.”

Ndidi has started seven of Leicester’s nine Championship games thus far and has been pivotal to their dominant start to the season.
