Major Leicestershire road closed after ghastly crash as rescue team struggle to save lives

Police closed a busy road in Leicestershire this morning, Friday, August 16. Between Granite Way and the One Ash roundabout near Loughborough, the A6 near Quorn was closed.

At 9:05 am., Leicestershire Police released an update regarding X. A police spokeswoman reported that a motorbike was involved in an accident. According to Inrix, a provider of traffic data, there were lines in the area.

Pillion passenger taken to hospital

According to a Leicestershire Police spokesman, a woman was hospitalised after being involved in a single-vehicle collision with a motorcycle. According to the spokeswoman, the woman rode on the motorbike as a pillion passenger. The extent of her injuries was unknown to them. It was just after 9:am when the crash was reported.

Route remains closed

Though Leicestershire Police have not formally confirmed it, Google Maps indicates that traffic has returned to the A6’s northbound route. According to traffic tracker INRIX, the southbound route remains blocked.
