TRANSFER NEWS: Leigh Leopards star wanted by three clubs

Three clubs are reportedly interested in Leigh Leopards star Lachlan Lam, according to sources on Channel 9.

During his time at Leigh, Lam’s reputation has grown significantly, aiding the club’s promotion prior to an incredible inaugural season in Super League.

The international player from Papua New Guinea has been crucial in enabling the Leopards to contend with the best since they entered the British rugby league’s premier division.

Leigh rocketed to a top six position after making history in the Challenge Cup, although Lam was perhaps the club’s finest player of 2023 and among the best in the tournament.

Lam’s golden point drop goal helped the Leopards upset Hull KR at Wembley. Lam won the Lance Todd Trophy as Man of the Match, cementing his legacy as a Leigh legend.

It was an incredible moment, with Lam’s dad, Adrian, the head coach at the Leigh Sports Village, with the father-son duo writing their names into Challenge Cup history.

Three clubs interested in Leigh Leopards star

According to a report on Channel 9’s Wide World of Sports, Lam is “ready to come home” and is “in demand” by three Australian clubs.
According to the source, “several NRL clubs are in the market for a halfback and have expressed interest to Lam’s manager Sam Ayoub.”

It goes on: “Lam played 31 games for the Roosters in 2019 and 2021, and since Luke Keary has announced his retirement, the local junior may have that option.”

“But several other clubs, including the Titans and Bulldogs, are desperate for a class No.7 to join their ranks.
