Following a two-car collision, police blocked off a major road.
Officers blocked off Leigh Road this afternoon, Friday, July 19, following the collision, which is reported to have happened at approximately 1:45 p.m.
Following the two-car collision, no significant injuries are thought to have been sustained.
“Officers were called to Leigh Road in Leigh at 1.45pm to a two-vehicle road traffic collision,” a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson stated.
“The Ford Ecosport and the Hyundai i20 were the options. The road is once again accessible.”
The traffic information website Inrix reported this afternoon, Friday: “Leigh Road both ways closed, slow traffic due to accident from Westbourne Avenue to Croydon Avenue.”
A “head-on crash” on Leigh Road caused a delay for the 582 bus from Leigh, according to a witness in Bolton.
