First Words as star signs to Leyton Orient

Hear from Orient midfielder Jordan Brown, as he signs a new two-year deal here at Gaughan Group Stadium.

Brown, 23, moved from Derby County to the club during the January 2022 transfer window.

Playing in a variety of positions, he was an integral member of the 2022–23 championship team. In the 2023–24 season, he made more O’s appearances than any other player, totalling 48 appearances and three goals.

The midfielder expressed his happiness to devote his future to Leyton Orient after inking his new contract. I was really happy when the club approached me about a new contract earlier in the summer, and we were able to quickly come to an agreement so that I could concentrate on the next season.

“I feel like the club is on the rise and I have improved as a player as a person since I arrived. I am excited for the next two years because I think our goals align—we both want to keep moving forward.

“We’re delighted to have Browny signed up for the next two years,” head coach Richie Wellens stated. Though he was a young player when he joined Leyton Orient, he has grown into a well-established League One midfielder, and I believe he may still improve.

He passes the ball well, covers the pitch well and is beginning to score a goal or two. He is a vital component of our team and is something that I believe could go on to play at a higher level.”

“He is a great example of a young pro coming to us from another club and growing and improving. We have also seen that with the likes of Ethan Galbraith, Brandon Cooper and Ollie O’Neill and that forms an important part of our recruitment strategy.”
