First Words: Diallang Jaiyesimi signs for Leyton Orient

Jaiyesimi talks through his relationship with Richie Wellens, what the Orient fans can expect from him, and how excited he is to get into pre-season training.

Leyton Orient have signed winger Diallang Jaiyesimi from Charlton Athletic on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old spent the previous season on loan at Scottish Premiership team St Johnstone, where he made 64 appearances and scored three goals for the Addicks.

After Charlie Kelman returned to the O’s on a loan from QPR and midfielder Max Sanders joined from Crewe, Jaiyesimi becomes the team’s third summer addition.

“The club is something I’ve always respected. “I’m excited and it feels great to be here,” he said to the external Orient website.

“I’m ready to go right now if we could, but we’ve got a long pre-season ahead of us, and I’m ready to get back to work.”

On Friday, August 9, Leyton Orient takes on Barnsley in their League One opener.
