The march will begin at 1pm and will commemorate the players from both clubs who lost their lives in the First World War and also forms part of Hearts’ 150-year anniversary celebrations.
150 pipers and drummers will lead supporters of both teams on a march up the “Maroon Mile”. In addition to the massed pipes and drums, the 17th Pals’ Battalion Band will also play along the route.
Drum Major, Mike Lindsay, will lead the bands past Hearts’ Memorial at Haymarket, stopping to salute the Monument. Club officials and dignitaries, including O’s Chairman Nigel Travis and Head Coach Richie Wellens, will file in behind the bands, followed by supporters.
Upon arrival at Tynecastle, an impressive selection of bands will perform on the Plaza, including the Tynecastle High Pipe Band with their special rendition of the ‘Hearts Song’.
From 1.45pm, O’s fans will also have the opportunity to meet members of the club’s official Scottish Fan Group, Saltire Orient, in McLeod Street.
