Wycombe Wanderers could rival Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient for League One promotion next season.
Before the transfer window even opens, Wycombe Wanderers is expected to make a headline-grabbing addition in order to challenge Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient for promotion to the Championship the following season.

In the season finale on Saturday, the Addicks take on Wycombe Wanderers, a team that may contend for the top spot the next year. Since Nathan Jones joined the team, Charlton has been among the third division’s most successful teams, having won their last 14 league games.

The Chairboys will also be hoping to challenge at the top of the table next year after a strong end to the season. Wycombe have been in League One since being relegated from the Championship in 2020.
Leyton Orient might also be there following their successful return to League One this season, while Wycombe could be serious this summer based on reports from Adams Park.

In a big coup for the club, Alan Nixon has revealed on Patreon that the team is’set’ to bring in Everton youth scout Dan Rice to assist with recruitment in a ‘leading senior role’. According to reports, Rice gave notice of his intention to leave the club on Merseyside.

The move would come little under a year since Rice swapped Southampton for Goodison Park, having previously worked at Arsenal and in the England set-up. The scout had been linked with a move to Newcastle United before heading to Everton.
