Manager Paul Simpson spoke to us and the truth is if it isn’t a foul .
“We started off bright enough, and that’s where our goal came from,” he remarked. Their second goal, scored right before the half, completely debilitated us.
“In my opinion, Ben Barclay committed a blatant foul. If it wasn’t, though, it appears like he handballed it as he went to the ground, therefore I believe there was a penalty. Going in behind 2-1 at halftime when we most likely didn’t deserve to is a little unfair, and it’s a definite foul.
He went on, “The third goal is a really bad goal to give away.” “On the half, we probably need to be a little more aggressive and give a free kick away.”
We can’t be upset about them winning the game because they deserved to win in the end. We need to become a little more streetwise and pick up their strategies, which have allowed them to stay competitive. We’re disappointed because, although we anticipated it would be a difficult game, the reality is that we’re in big difficulty, and today was the day we needed to start winning.
“I don’t think it’s confidence; I think we just failed because we weren’t good enough. We’ve got chances to gain a little of momentum and get the ball in behind them from free kicks, but we were unable to deliver the ball. I’m not sure if that is confidence.
“Those minor technical issues are what have let us down.” We had a few chances in the first half to get a little break, but we were unable to find the perfect pass. In one instance, Jack Diamond did well and had the opportunity to play it in front of Fin Back, but he also played it behind him. Jordan Gibson, on the other hand, pressed extremely hard and had to roll it in for Jack Diamond. We lose all of the momentum we’ve built up, so the tiny things that seem insignificant now turn out to be quite significant.
“We must not give up.” he declared. “Jack Diamond was too sore to continue after taking a blow to the ankle, so it was devastating to lose him. Because of the stress of the game, Fin Back was experiencing some hip discomfort. All we need to do is get everyone back on the grass, support them through it, and never stop working. All we can do is continue; there is nothing else we can do.
It’s too early to tell, but I don’t think Jack is in any danger; I think it was simply a kick. I hope it’s nothing catastrophic, but we’ll assess it on Monday and see how it plays out. There are numerous things that we must
United dropped to the bottom of the league as a result of today’s results: “It can’t get any worse than it is in my opinion, even before today,” stated Simpson. It’s not healthy for anyone, bottom or second bottom. Both before and after today, we have been in difficulty. Even though we are still behind by ten points, as I have always said, it won’t matter what other teams do as long as we don’t start winning games. All we need to do is roll up our sleeves and play with a small amount of dignity. We’ll continue working and watch the outcome.
