Richie Wellens, the custodian, and Dan Agyei, the striker, are the nominees for the January Sky Bet League One Manager and Player of the Month awards, respectively.
The O’s have been playing fantastically to start 2024. In January, they won 10 of the 12 points that were available, defeating Bolton Wanderers, promotion-chasing Portsmouth, and Cambridge United before ending the month in a draw at Reading.
The outstanding play of forward Agyei, who scored his first goal for the O’s in the victory over Cambridge United on New Year’s Day and went on to score in every January game, was essential to those outcomes.
Along with Darren Ferguson (Peterborough United), Ian Evatt (Bolton Wanderers), and Neil Critchley (Blackpool), Wellens is a nominee.
Agyei will face Josh Sheehan (Bolton Wanderers), Chris Martin (Bristol Rovers), and James Collins (Derby County).
The January award winners will be revealed on Friday, February 9th at 6 a.m.
