Lincoln City Boss Outlines Transfer Window Intentions

Lincoln City snatched a late draw at Wycombe yesterday, and afterward, head coach Michael Skubala outlined what fans can expect from the club over the next two weeks.

The Imps trailed to a first-half Dale Taylor goal right up until the 97th minute, but their pressure paid off when a deflected Lasse Sorensen cross dropped to Ethan Erhahon, who lifted the ball into the net to grab a point.

Maybe it was merely a reward for how well they played in the second half once Reeco Hackett came on. The former Portsmouth player has been sidelined for a few months, but since entering the game, he has significantly improved.

Michael Skubala, the former Leeds Under 21 manager, is eager to add two more player profiles to the Imps’ roster in the coming weeks.

When asked whether any new players would be joining this week by Michael Hortin of BBC Radio Lincolnshire, he responded, “I’m still hopeful.”

“Our hard work is still ongoing. We still need to expand the group, in my opinion. We still need to add some experience, in my opinion. I would really like to do it.

“As you are aware, I enjoy seeing wide offensive players like Reeco enter the game because I believe it is difficult to defend against them on these kinds of fields.

“We’re still working hard behind the scenes, and we’re hopeful we can still do something.”

With the draw at Adams Park, the Imps ended a run of four league losses, and they welcomed several new players into the team. While Freddie Draper made his first start for the Imps after being summoned back from a productive loan with Walsall in League Two, Jack Moylan and Joe Taylor made their debuts for the team.

Skubala is having a difficult time rebuilding due to the fixture list, and his team now has a difficult doubleheader at the LNER Stadium. As the Imps look for their first victory since late November, the following 14 days will see Derby County and Peterborough play back-to-back.

It appears that Lincoln City’s head coach has the same understanding of what the team requires. They can be a little inexperienced in certain areas at times, and losing a goal typically spells disaster for the Imps. They played with some energy yesterday, but we’ll be waiting for a guy who has some experience to step in and contribute.

Players that are eager to seize the ball and run with it are also necessary. Ted Bishop and Hackett both made a significant impact, but the first half was dull and the team appeared uneasy when they had the ball. The Imps would undoubtedly place a young loan player with strength, confidence, and the ability to deliver into the box at the top of their shopping list.
