Lincoln City have announced the signing of young goalkeeper Jamie Pardington on a two-year contract.
Pardington, 23, rejoins his former goalkeeping coach Scott Fry of the Imps after graduating from the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy.
Pardington spent time on loan at a number of EFL teams, such as Grimsby Town, Mansfield Town, and Cheltenham Town.
Thinking back on his decision, Pardington said he was thrilled to be back with Fry.
“I’ve worked with Scott in the past, we get on really well and I like his style of coaching,” Pardington stated.
“I will undoubtedly gain from working with him once more. Impressive facilities and a great club with lots of kind people, that’s what I can observe. I agree with that and think that in order to grow, this is the ideal location.”
With the words, “I had a taste of League One football last season at Cheltenham,” Pardington also outlined his goals. I am young, so I still have a long way to go, but I am eager to acquire playing time and try to get selected for some cup games in order to advance.
Jez George, director of football at Lincoln City, commended the signing and highlighted Pardington’s potential. “Jamie comes highly recommended from Scott and fits the profile we wanted to add to our goalkeeping department.” We are looking for a goalie who will take pleasure in playing as our backup, will challenge Lukas, and will work hard to be our first choice in the future. Jamie seems to fit the bill in our opinion.
George also mentioned the team’s track record of producing excellent goalkeepers.
“One of the reasons we appeal to young goalkeepers is the calibre of goalkeepers we have assisted in developing over the previous four seasons. Jamie’s addition to this outstanding list makes us very happy, and we extend a warm welcome to him.
